2. Diego Maradona – Often considered to be the second-best player of all time, Maradona was known for his incredible skills and dribbling ability. He won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986, and is the all-time top scorer in the history of the Copa América.
3. Lionel Messi – Widely considered to be the best player in the world, Messi has won five Ballon d’Or awards and four Champions League titles. He is also the all-time top scorer in the history of Barcelona and the Argentina national team.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo – A prolific goalscorer, Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards and is the all-time top scorer in the UEFA Champions League. He has also scored the most international goals in the history of European football.
5. Franz Beckenbauer – Nicknamed the “Kaiser”, Beckenbauer is considered one of the greatest defenders in the history of football. He won the World Cup with Germany in 1974, and was also named European Footballer of the Year in 1972.
6. Johan Cruyff – One of the most influential players in the history of football, Cruyff was known for his dribbling skills and his Total Football philosophy. He won the World Cup with the Netherlands in 1974, and was named European Football
7. Eusebio - Football player Eusebio, a Portuguese-Mozambican, is recognized as one of the all-time greats. He participated in 745 games and scored 733 goals, an amazing accomplishment in and of itself. Eusebio was renowned for his agility, skill, and athleticism. He established history as a well-known player known as "The King" via his dedication and zeal. He launched his career in 1971 by aiding the Maxaquene Club with its numerous accolades and trophies.
Before joining Benfica in 1961, he played for the Maxaquene club for three seasons. While there, he helped the squad win numerous championships, including the Primeira Liga, Taca de Portugal, and the European Cup. He was the one to turn to when things become difficult.
He played for numerous clubs throughout his career and received numerous honours, including the Ballon d'Or, World Soccer, and the European Golden Shoe.
8. Alfredo Di Stefano - Alfredo Di Stefano, a professional footballer and coach from Spain who was born in Argentina, began his career in 1945 with the River Plate team. He is well-known for his five straight goals in European Cup finals. He goes by Saeta Rubia, and because of his extraordinary abilities and brilliant strategies, he has outperformed many footballers.
In his early career, he assisted the River Plate team in capturing the Copa Aldao and the back-to-back Argentine Primera Division honours. His real success, though, came in the Spanish league, where he rose to become one of La Liga's all-time leading scorers.
More awards including the Ballon d'Or, the World Soccer, and the UEFA President's Award are associated with Alfredo. He was one of the players who helped Real Madrid win the La Liga eight times.
9. Gerd Muller - Gerd Muller, one of the best football players in the world, has made a reputation for himself by working incredibly hard. Gerd, one of the all-time leading Bundesliga scorers, began his playing career at Nordlingen in 1958. Later, he was a striker for Fort Lauderdale and Bayern Munich.
By winning prestigious honours like the Ballon d'Or, Footballer of the Year, and the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot, the German striker has made history. He has 1,251 goals to his name from 998 games, making him the player with the most goals to games ratio.
He contributed to West Germany's victories in the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship while he was a member of the team.
